Mae Shannon, 94, of Blanchard, died Thursday, May 5, 2016, in Norman. The daughter of Claude Scott and Myrtle Ann (Higgins) Scott, she was born January 26, 1922, in Goldsby, Oklahoma.

She married James Edward “Ed” Shannon on April 24, 1945, in Hugo, Oklahoma. Mae worked in the cafeteria for Blanchard Public Schools and retired after 32 years of service. She was a member of the Blanchard Church of Christ. Mae was a great cook and in her spare time, she enjoyed quilting with the group of women from the Senior Citizens Center. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed Shannon, one daughter, Claudetta Shannon, and a son-in-law, Dub Adams.

Mae is survived by five daughters, Gloria Adamson and her husband, Bobby, of Blanchard, Kay Adams of Purcell, Laquita Creel and her husband, Gary, of Blanchard, Kim Doerksen and her husband, Ken, of Blanchard, and LaVita Bowring and her husband, Bo, of Blanchard; two sons, James Shannon and his wife, Clarene, of Blanchard and Jack Shannon and his wife, Pam, of Blanchard; fourteen grandchildren, Pauletta Beck of Blanchard, Gary Adamson of Blanchard, Danita Stephens of Missouri, Britt Shannon of Blanchard, Michelle Redmon of Blanchard, Darren Shannon of Blanchard, Sherri Sheehy of Purcell, Debbie Davis of Purcell, Amanda Creel of Oklahoma City, Jennifer McGalliard of Blanchard, Kyle Doerksen of Oregon, Brook Hays of Blanchard, Clint Bowring of Blanchard and Tanner Bowring of Blanchard; thirty-one great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2016, at the Blanchard Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
