Raymond Eugene Ragsdale, 85, of Blanchard, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, in Blanchard. The son of Trulen Travis Ragsdale and Katie May (Whitener) Ragsdale, he was born March 2, 1930 in Blanchard, Oklahoma.

He married Clara LaVelle Testerman on January 10, 1953, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Raymond surrendered to preach on July 21, 1957 and became an ordained minister on January 11, 1959. Throughout his life he pastored New Hope Baptist Church in Bridge Creek, Calvary Baptist Church in Altus, Missionary Baptist Church in Dibble, Skyline Baptist Church in Lawton, and was currently serving as pastor of Skyline Missionary Baptist Church in Norman. Raymond also worked for Wilson Foods and retired after 22 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Ragsdale.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 62 years, LaVelle Ragsdale of Blanchard; two sons, Bobby Ragsdale of Bridge Creek, and Danny Ragsdale of Blanchard; one granddaughter, Rebecca Medrano and her husband, Aaron, of Bridge Creek; two great grandsons, Tylor and Tony Medrano, of Bridge Creek; one sister, Maxine (Ragsdale) Allen of Blanchard; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Clara LaVelle Ragsdale, 88, of Blanchard, died Wednesday, January 29, 2020, in Tuttle. The daughter of Ralph Wilson Testerman and Rhoda Ethel (Kee) Testerman, she was born July 2, 1931 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma.

LaVelle married Raymond Eugene Ragsdale on January 10, 1953, in Chickasha. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and sewing. LaVelle loved life and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years, Raymond Ragsdale; three sisters, Helen Brown, Alice Paige, and Ruth Betterton; and one brother, Monroe Testerman.

LaVelle is survived by her two sons, Bob Ragsdale and Danny Ragsdale, both of Blanchard; one granddaughter, Becky Medrano and her husband, Aaron, of Minco; two great grandchildren, Tylor and Tony Medrano; two sisters, Ola Morrison of Amber and Lora Dills of Illinois; one brother, Roy Testerman of Minco; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 3, 2020, at the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
