Mary Frances (Stevens) Outon, 96, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Blanchard, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at her home. She was born August 25, 1924, in Richmond, Missouri, to Walter "Cotton" Noah Stevens and Dolly (Broadhurst) Stevens. After growing up in Richmond, Missouri, she met and married Marion R. Outon on May 31, 1940, and they spent years working in home missions and pioneering numerous churches in Missouri, Indiana and Oklahoma, where they settled with their family in 1954. She worked outside the home as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone, John A. Brown and Gilt Edge Dairy before a 20-year career at Western Electric.

She enjoyed singing in the church choir and playing the accordion, as well as crocheting, tatting and crafting. After retiring, she spent much of her time editing her husband’s books and articles about Christian topics. She was a strong, caring, feisty woman who deeply loved the Lord, her family and was welcoming to all. She called herself "Friendly Fran," had a great sense of humor and enjoyed sharing jokes. Her favorite quote was, (I aspire to inspire before I expire.)

She will be greatly missed by many family and friends who loved her. She is survived by two daughters Betty (Outon) Gutel and Deborah (Outon) Ferguson, both of Oklahoma City; one son Steve Outon and wife Cheryl (Elrod), both of Blanchard; and two daughters-in-law Shirley (Goff) Outon of Oklahoma City and Linda (Flaherty) Outon, of Waxahachie, Texas.

Her journey to heaven was preceded by her husband of 67 years, Marion R. Outon, her sons James M. Outon and Paul E. Outon, her son-in-law Joseph M. Gutel Jr., her grandson Sterling B. Outon, her parents and three siblings. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren and many other family, friends and loved ones

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
