George Washington “Dub” Manuel, 88, of Norman, formerly of Blanchard, died Friday, November 2, 2018, in Norman, Oklahoma.

The son of Shelton Isaac Manuel and Dora Francis (McCabe) Manuel, he was born April 12, 1930, in Red Oak, Oklahoma. Dub married Betty June Brown on March 13, 1948, in Konawa, Oklahoma. He owned and operated Manuel’s Auto Repair in Blanchard for many years until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Blanchard Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon. When he was younger, Dub loved racing cars and was a huge Nascar fan. He enjoyed raising cattle on his hobby farm outside of Blanchard. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, George Wayne Manuel; one sister, Wanda Manuel; four brothers, Donnie, Harvey, Lonnie, and Leon Manuel; a son-in-law, Johnny Freeman; and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Manuel.

Dub is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty Manuel of Norman; one daughter, Wanda Freeman of Oklahoma City; one son, Forrest Manuel of Blanchard; nine grandchildren, Michael Manuel and wife, Trish, of Chickasha, David Freeman and wife, Angela, of Oklahoma City, Mandy Manuel of Blanchard, Christi Marzett and husband, Patrick, of Moore, Kim Wallace of Friend, Deanna McNeill and husband, Kyle, of Blanchard, Bubba Manuel and wife, Molly, of Blanchard, Shelton Manuel and wife, Laura, of Goldsby, and Julie Manuel of Bethany; nineteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Onetia Manuel of Ada; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at the Blanchard Church of Christ.

Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
