Charles Lee "Chuck" Hughes, 72, of Newcastle, died Tuesday, August 20, 2019, in Oklahoma City. The son of William Edward "Bill" Hughes and Rosemary (Renshaw) Hughes, he was born October 4, 1946 in Oklahoma City.

Chuck served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and worked for many years in the construction business. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, traveling, telling stories, and visiting with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his two sons, Chad Hughes and his wife, Jennifer, and Shane Hughes, all of Blanchard; his grandchildren; Uncle Joe Hughes and his family; other aunts and uncles, and many cousins; his loving companion, Janet Rogers and her son, Richard Rogers, both of Newcastle; and many other loved ones and friends.

A private family memorial service and burial of his cremated remains will be held in the Blanchard Cemetery at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
