Louis Wayne Haynes, 87, of Newcastle, died Saturday, August 1, 2020, at his home. The son of Cozy Haynes and Frances Marie (Lambert) Haynes, he was born January 16, 1933, in Lone Hill, Oklahoma.

Wayne married Mary Frances Smith on May 19, 1950, in Asher, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He worked for many years as a logistics technician for the FAA until his retirement. Wayne was a member of the Southern Ridge Church of Christ in Oklahoma City. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his peach orchard, and gardening. When he was younger, he enjoyed bowling. Wayne’s greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Wayne Haynes; and his Army brother, Sherwood “Buddy” Ellis.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Haynes of Newcastle; one son, Andy Ray Haynes of Bridge Creek; one daughter, Ilisa Allen and her husband, Scott, of Cogar; three grandchildren, Kayla Cornett of Yukon, Justin Cornett of Henryetta, and Mika Allen of Cogar; his Army brother, Andy Heath of Georgia; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Southern Ridge Church of Christ in Oklahoma City. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
