Leona Jane (Pidcoe) Harms, 90, died Thursday, September 19, 2024 in Norman, Oklahoma. The daughter of George Willard Pidcoe and Mildred Rebecca (Winner) Pidcoe, she was born October 10, 1933, in McElhattan, Pennsylvania.
Leona was born and raised and graduated from high school in McElhattan. She served in the US Army for a short time working as a clerk as a Private First Class. Leona met Stanley Harms in Colorado Springs, Colorado while they were both in the military and they married on May 2, 1957. Leona was a loving homemaker, raising three daughters and moving from station to station with her family as Stanley was assigned to different locations in his military career. They made their home in Newcastle in about 1980. After Stanley’s retirement, Leona went to work at Braum’s Ice Cream Store. She enjoyed her work there as a manager for seventeen years. Leona enjoyed doing all kinds of needlework. When the girls were younger, she served as their girl scout leader. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley Harms; a daughter, Rebecca Harms; a son-in-law, Carlton Campbell; three sisters, June Pidcoe, Margaret Pidcoe, and Geraldine Schuerer; and a brother, Glenn Pidcoe.
Leona is survived by two daughters, Etta Shultz of Nebraska, and Evelyn Campbell of Oklahoma City; one granddaughter, Erica Board of California; two brothers, Calvin Pidcoe and David Pidcoe; and many other loved ones and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 23, 2024, in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
