Katherine Louise Gilmore, 95, of Blanchard, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in McAlester. The daughter of Harvey Wendell Ballew and Beulah Fern (Blakley), she was born May 15, 1920 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

She married Robert Watie Gilmore on September 23, 1944, in Fort Worth Texas. Louise was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Blanchard and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She loved to cook and, in her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Bob Gilmore; one brother, Harvey Ballew; and one sister, Mary Ann Dixon.

Louise is survived by one son, Robert Gilmore, Jr. of Norman; one daughter, Joan Hoffman of McAlester; five grandchildren, Alisa Wielebnicki and her husband, Jim, of Connecticut, Andrea Speck and her husband, Darren, of Texas, Kelly Hildebrant and her husband, Seth, of Jenks, Jason Hoffman of Edmond, and Robin Strickland and her husband, Jason, of Edmond; nine great grandchildren, Alex and Camden Wielebnicki, Lindsay and Sophia Speck, Tinley and Kenna Hildebrant, Cameron Hoffman, Noah and Eli Strickland, and one on the way; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 2, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery, Blanchard, Oklahoma.
