(permission granted)
Bronell Ray Garland, 84, of Blanchard, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at his home in Blanchard. The son of Roy Orilen Garland and Ruby Hazel (Evans) Garland, Bronell was born on June 27, 1940, in Blanchard.
Bronell was a 1959 graduate of Blanchard High School. Many knew Bronell as "Gravy." He worked at Western Electric until 1977. Bronell was a determined young man and somewhat stubborn. This determination and stubbornness served him well, as he had a motorcycle accident in 1977 that most say should have taken his life. Bronell stayed active and would mow several of the family’s lawns for them. He enjoyed fishing and going to the Senior Citizen’s Center and attending church at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. One family member affectionately called him an “onery toot” as he loved playing tricks on them. Bronell will be greatly missed by all that knew him, especially Debbie and Geary who helped care for Bronell in their home for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one infant brother, Billy Leroy.
Bronell is survived by several cousins, which include Ronnie, Gary, Joetta, Beverly, Kenneth, Debbie, Pam and several others; and many extended family members and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 4, 2025, in the Blanchard Cemetery in Blanchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
