Donna Ferguson, age 76, of Newcastle passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026.
Donna Elizabeth Talkington was born on June 14, 1949 in Anadarko, the oldest of two children born to Donald Dee Talkington and Bessie Berniece (Norwood&341; Talkington.
She was raised in the Cement community for much of her younger years, up until about the 7th grade when the Talkington family moved to Newcastle.
It was at this time that Donna became friends with a young man named, Sanford Allen Ferguson. Their friendship blossomed into more throughout high school, and on June 13, 1966, Donna and Sandy were married.
The next year Donna graduated with the Racer Class of 1967.
Donna and Sandy made their home in Newcastle, and together they raised their three beautiful children- Joy, JoDee, and Tommy. One of her biggest accomplishments in life was becoming a mother; she considered herself very fortunate and blessed to be able to stay home and care for her family. She truly was their biggest supporter, and loved chasing them around throughout life. She was their rock!
Once the kids were grown, Donna began working at Newcastle Elementary School in the cafeteria. The ladies in the cafeteria formed a tight-knit group, and Donna cherished their friendship greatly. She served alongside them for over twenty years before eventually retiring in the early 2000s.
In her free time, Donna enjoyed playing solitaire, completing word search puzzles, and antiquing. She also enjoyed landscaping her yard, and took great pride in doing so. More than anything, Donna was a family woman! When she was younger, she loved spending time with her parents at the lake, and as she got older, she loved hosting family get-togethers. She just loved getting to spend time and make memories with her loved ones, no matter the occasion.
Donna was a very loving, generous, strong, confident and classy woman in nature.
She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, friend, and “Mamo” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed!
She is preceded in death by: her loving husband, Sandy Ferguson, and parents, Donald and Berniece Talkington.
Donna is survived by: her daughters, Joy Eidenshink of Newcastle and JoDee Durham of Tulsa; son, Tommy Ferguson and wife Amy of Lindsay; brother, Mike Talkington and wife Jan of Newcastle; 7 grandchildren, Michael Ferguson, Jesse Eidenshink and wife Sara, Kellee Jenson and husband Clay, Brett Killingsworth and wife Wytney, Hollee Carpenter and husband Blake, Ty Ferguson, Allie Ferguson; 10 great-grandchildren, Colt, Tate, Remington, Banks, Reese, Bree, Addy, Ritlee, Wilder, Oaken, and one more on the way, Jentry; 1 great- great grandchild, Slade; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
