Joe Gilbert Estes was born to Evelyn (Moats) and James Monroe Estes on August 24, 1924 in Atoka, Oklahoma.

He attended school in Olney and served in the United States Navy during World War II on the carrier USS Saratogo. Joe was employed as a supervisor by the Oklahoma City Water Department. He moved from Oklahoma City to Tuttle in 1974 and attended Tuttle Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed raising, training and trading mules.

Joe passed away July 9, 2008 at 83 years of age

Survivors include his son, Timothy (Tim) Merle Estes, of Lewisville, Texas; daughters, Lydia Ann Baird and her husband, Phillip of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Nancy Jo Francis of Moore; grandchildren, Trevor Jordan, James Jordan, III, Nathan Baird, Captain Garry Francis, II, Larrissa Sugg, Robert Estes, Jr; great grandchildren, Jacob Jordan, Conner Jordan, Alex Jordan, Katherine Jordan, Jaylon Baird, Jessica Jordan, Lauren Roubicek, Will Roubicek; brother, Harold Estes and his wife, Margaret, of Lehigh, Oklahoma; sisters, Reba Eddings and her husband, Clifford, of Coalgate, Virginia Rickard of Ada, June Elliot of Hugo, Mary Yother of Coalgate, Norma Maynes of Streetman, Texas; numerous other relatives and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, by two wives, Dolores Ann Estes, and Regina Nadine Estes, four brothers, three sisters, three children, Robert, Roger and Gaylene Estes, two grandchildren, Jay Jordan and John Rosson.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Eisenhour Chapel in Blanchard. Reverend Larry Harris officiated with interment held in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard
