Hazel Lorene (Haygood) Elliott-Richey, 91, of Blanchard, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Pawhuska. She was born December 18, 1922 in Iowa Park, Texas to Henry Josephus and Mary Jane (Slater) Haygood.
She graduated from Blanchard High School in 1941 and worked for 25 years at the First State Bank in Blanchard as a teller. In her spare time, Hazel loved to fish and enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She enjoyed traveling and going to the ocean and loved the beach. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband of 41 years, Elmo Elliott; her second husband, Shi Richey; and her brothers and sisters.

Hazel is survived by one son, Jimmy C. “Moe” Elliott, of Blanchard and his step-son, Nicholas Lawton of Montana; one daughter, Vicki Grusing and her husband, Dale, of Pawhuska and her son, Jay Wilson and his wife, Holly, of Cache and sons, Zak Wells Wilson and Bryce Garet Wilson, both of Pawhuska, her daughter, Tina Hagan and her husband, Jim, and son, Ty Elliott Hagan, all of Pawhuska; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 11, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Exodus Prison Ministry, P.O. Box 6363, Lubbock, Texas, 79493 and/or bring your new or used Bibles to the funeral home or to the service so they may be given to others in need.
