Gary Allen Dennis, 73, of Blanchard, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 at his home. The son of James Allen Dennis and Lola M. (Henson) Dennis, he was born March 1, 1941 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.


Gary was a Baptist in faith and was a former member of the Blanchard School Board. He worked for many years as a machine setter for Lucent Technologies. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working in his yard. Gary loved watching sports, especially football and helped start the first little league in Blanchard. Gary loved to tell jokes and always had a good story to tell anyone he met.


He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Danny Dennis and Jimmy Dennis.


He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Tana Dennis of the home in Blanchard; three sons, Kent Dennis of Texas, Brent Dennis and his wife, Susan, of Nevada, and Matt Bryen of the home; his daughter, Cynthia Ritter and her husband, Ted, of Virginia; six grandchildren, Tanner, Savannah, Avis, and Danielle Dennis, and Jake and Max Ritter; his mother, Lola Dennis, of Pauls Valley; his sister, Dayna Chapman and her husband, Darrell, of Elmore City; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.


Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.
