Lowell Quenton Cantrell age 61 of Newcastle, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 15, 2012.

He was born on June 19, 1951 in Oklahoma City. He was the oldest child of three children born to Y.Q. Cantrell and Gayle (Hoover) Cantrell.

Lowell grew up in the Putnam City Community and graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1970. After high school he attended one year of college before going to work for Wilson Meat Packing Co. near the Stockyard of OKC. After 10 years with Wilson's he later began working for OG&E in 1986 as a meter reader. Lowell was a dedicated employee and during his years with OG&E he worked in various positions within the company. He retired this year after 26 years of service.

Throughout his life, Lowell had been an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, camping, four wheeling and fishing especially fishing in Bass Tournaments. He loved working with his hands and could build or fix just about anything. He grew up going to the Baptist Church and lately attended the Newcastle First Baptist Church.

Lowell married Kimberly Campbell in 2000 and they made their home in Newcastle for many years. Lowell loved his family and would do anything for them. He was a giving person and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by: Parents: Y Q and Gayle Cantrell

He is survived by: Wife: Kim Cantrell. Four children: Dustin Cantrell and wife Candace of OKC, Jennifer Cantrell-Roche and husband Ryan of Newcastle, Justin Cantrell of OKC, Kelli Cantrell of Yukon. Two sisters: Loretta McCarty and husband Steve of Blanchard, Linda Pace and husband Don of Norman. Three grandchildren: Braydon, Conlea and Brantly. Two nephews: Jon Kennedy and Zach Pace. One niece: Jill Richardson. Several cousins and a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Interment will be at the Blanchard Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
