Jason Walter Cable, 37, of Spring Branch, Texas, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at his home. The son of Doyle Eugene Cable and Glenda Mary (Brooks) Cable, he was born January 18, 1977 in Columbia, Missouri.

Jason graduated from Plainview High School in Ardmore in 1995 and then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and served aboard the USCGC Dauntless. Jason worked as a petroleum landman in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, and Texas. In April 2008, Jason made his profession of faith to his Lord and Savior. In the summer of 2011, an Okie man met the love of his life, a Texas woman, Meliza Gardner, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was love at first sight and they were married March 12, 2012 in Norman. Jason enjoyed watching OU football and Thunder basketball, going to the lake, and riding dirt bikes. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his wife and family, whom he dearly loved. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, R.W. and Wilma Brooks, Beulah Crowder, Walter and Carolyn Cable; a cousin, Lance Brooks; and an uncle, Jerry Brooks.

Jason is survived by his wife, Meliza Cable of Spring Branch, Texas; his step-daughter, Samantha Gardner of Moscow, Texas; his mother and dad, Glenda and Keith Fore of Blanchard; his sister, Debby Martin and her husband, Tim; his nephews, Tanner and Kyle Martin; his niece, Ally Martin, all of Yukon; his father, Doyle Cable and his wife, Sally, and her son, Chad, all of Edmond; mother-in-law, Judy Lewis of Universal City, Texas; father-in-law, Merle Lewis of Canyon Lake, Texas; brother-in-law, Phil Lewis and his wife, Katherine of Los Angeles, California; sister-in-law, Gina Kuchan and her husband, Vern, of Toronto, Ohio; two step-brothers, Desi Fore of Norman and Brandon Fore and his wife, Marissa, of Purcell; his aunt and uncle, Karen and Jack Finley of Blanchard; uncles, Larry Brooks and Rean Brooks, both of Blanchard; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 9, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.
