Ellen Louise Burrus, 80, of Newcastle, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at her home. The daughter of Virgil and Mabel (Spoon) Pinkerton, she was born August 22, 1933 in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
Ellen worked for many years as a nurse’s aide and attended Newcastle Free Will Baptist Church. Ellen had a green thumb and enjoyed growing plants and flowers. In her spare time, she loved baking goodies for her family, sewing, crocheting, and working jigsaw puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Linda Louise O’Leary; an infant son, Thomas Dean O’Leary; a great grandson, Jaxon O’Leary; two husbands, Thomas O’Leary and Kenneth Burrus; three brothers, Lloyd Pinkerton, Roy Pinkerton, and Bob Pinkerton; and one sister, Thelma Silvers.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Walker and husband, Bobby, of Newcastle, Karen Belk and husband, Billy, of Arkansas, Mike O’Leary and wife, Terri, of North Carolina, Rick O’Leary and wife, Deb, of Arizona, and Ernie Burrus of Broken Arrow; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Newcastle Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Frontier Hospice, 3817 NW Expressway, Suite 780, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
