Willie Richard Bright, 82, of Blanchard, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 11, 2017. He died peacefully with his only son, Rick, by his side while being cared for by the wonderful staff of the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. The son of Earnest Wilson Bright and Nita Ellen (Medlock) Bright, he was born on September 5, 1934 in Arp, Texas. 

Richard was the owner and operator of Richard’s Foods in Blanchard from 1975 to 1998. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blanchard. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and watching OU sports. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eugene and Raymond; sister-in-law, Hettie Bright; and brother-in-law, Charles Hair. 

Richard is survived by his son, Rick Bright and his wife, Shari, of Oklahoma City; Rick’s mother, Wanda Faye Bright, of Blanchard; his sisters, Velta Hair of Lawton and Mary Rayburn and her husband, Ronnie, of Grove; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends. 

Memorial donations may be made in Richard’s name to Alzheimer’s research.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.

Burial will follow at the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
