Nelda Jean Bailey, 88, of Blanchard, died Sunday, October 18, 2020, in Blanchard. The daughter of Walter Leslie Schoonover and Florence Ellen (Buffalow) Schoonover, she was born October 25, 1931 in Pond Creek, Oklahoma.

Nelda was a registered nurse and worked many years until her retirement. She was Baptist in faith and was a member of the St. Anthony Nursing School Alumni Association. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading novels, traveling, and going on cruises and bus tours. She loved animals of all kinds. Nelda’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Bailey in 1998; two brothers and two sisters.

Nelda is survived by two daughters, Debbie Taylor and her husband, Doug, of Enid and Amber Johns of Blanchard; one son, John Bailey, of Del City; four grandchildren, John A. Bailey of Kingston, Michelle Stone of Oklahoma City, William Johns of Texas, and Allison Taylor of Norman; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, Louisa, and Kimberly; several nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 22, 2020, at the Blanchard Cemetery in Blanchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
