Eisenhour Funeral Home
Blanchard, McClain Co, OK
(permission granted)

Sam Andrews, longtime resident of Blanchard, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, December 10, 2019.

He was born in Cole, Oklahoma, to Charlie Andrews and Gladys Sharp Andrews on March 10, 1933.

Sam served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hancock. After his service in the Navy he met and married Joyce Elder in 1958. On December 29 they would have celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Sam is survived by his wife, Joyce; his three children, Melonie (Sam) Romero of Ft. Morgan, CO; Cheryl (Robert) Vance of Blanchard, OK; and son, Samuel (Charlie) Andrews and wife Amanda of Knoxville, TN; and sister, Carrol (Chief) Watts of Blanchard, OK. He has 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Gladys Andrews; a son, Vick, his sister, Lucille Swindell; his brother, James Andrews and sister-in-law, Karen Andrews; and a niece Debbie McWaters.

Sam was a retired United Airline Captain. He loved to fly and felt like he was the luckiest man alive to be able to have a job that felt like play and not work.  When he wasn’t flying he enjoyed spending time farming, fishing, and with his friends and family.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 13, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Blanchard.

Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
