Gerald Allen Stephens, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in Sarcoxie, Missouri, at the age of 86. Born on September 21, 1938, in Jackett, Missouri, Gerald touched the lives of many through his warm spirit and remarkable ability to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was the kind of person who could fix almost anything.
Gerald's passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for fishing and tinkering with trucks and cars. Friends and family often found joy in his company, especially during trips to bluegrass festivals across the country, where he traveled in his camper to visit music venues in Arizona and Michigan. His affection for the great outdoors was matched only by his fondness for Mexican food.
He is survived by his daughters, Dianne Renkoski and Theresa Schneider. He also leaves behind his brothers, Rick Stephens and wife Rita of Rocky Comfort, MO, and Loren Stephens of Eufaula, AL, along with many other relatives and friends who cherished him.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Cora Faye (Ritter) Stephens; his beloved wife, Geneva Creekkiller; his daughter, Mona Kay Anders; and his siblings, Bill Stephens, Dale Stephens, Anna Faye Winkler, and Jane Cooper.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Spavinaw Strang Cemetery with Pastor Bob Holloway officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2025, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor. To leave a message, please visit his guestbook at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com.
