Bob Gingrich
June 13, 1955 - June 11, 2025
Adair
Robert "Bobby" Gingrich of Adair, Oklahoma, passed away on June 11, 2025.
Born on June 13, 1955, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Bob was the son of Dale and Marie Gingrich. From a young age, he developed a deep love for racehorses and began jockeying at just nine years old. Later in life, Bob found his calling on the pipeline - x-raying, welding, inspecting, and following the right-of-way wherever it led him.
On May 18, 1974, he married his racetrack sweetheart, Jeanie Gingrich, and together they raised two sons.
Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeanie; his faithful sidekick: Benny; his two sons and daughters-in-law: Coby and Robin Gingrich, and Marty and Elizabeth Gingrich; his five grandchildren: Taylor Snell (married to Jamie Snell), Jacy Gingrich, Kelci Gingrich, Allyson Lyons, and Cooper Gingrich; and three great-grandkids: Hagen Snell, Copelyn Snell, and Presley Snell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Terri and Kimberly.
Bob will be remembered for his grit, deep love of horses, and unmatched storytelling. He never met a stranger and had a tale for every mile of pipeline he worked - and a few for the ones he didn't. Whether you were sitting around the table or out working, Bob could manufacture a story that made you laugh, shake your head, or both. His stories might not have always been word-for-word true, but they were always worth hearing. His legacy lives on in the stories he told, the miles he traveled, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
Funeral services for Bob will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2025, at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Keith McGowan officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hope Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor. To leave a message, please visit his guestbook at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com.
