Sherry Gaylene Shadrick
December 7, 1951 - July 16, 2026
Sherry Gaylene (Rowbotham) Shadrick, affectionately known to everyone as "Granny," passed away peacefully at her home in Kellyville, Oklahoma, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the age of 74 years, 7 months, and 9 days. Granny was born on December 7, 1951, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Doyle Glenn Rowbotham and Anna Mae (White) White. She spent her childhood growing up in the Claremore, Locust Grove, and Salina areas. After graduating from high school, she attended Tulsa Tech, where she studied floral arranging, beginning a lifelong love of flowers and creativity.
On August 1, 1978, she married the love of her life, Claude "Rick" Shadrick, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Together they shared more than 45 wonderful years of marriage. During their life together, they lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, for several years, spent a short time in Oregon, and eventually made Kellyville their home in 1987.
Granny was an entrepreneur with an incredible work ethic. Throughout the years, she owned and operated the Tiger Shrimp Company in Corpus Christi, the Cajun Boiling Pot in Tulsa, and Buds and Bouquets in Kellyville. She also faithfully served the Kellyville School District as a JOM teacher and after-school tutor for more than 17 years, where she positively impacted the lives of countless students and families.
Sherry embraced life with enthusiasm and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, computer games, and card games. Although she loved a little friendly competition, her family affectionately joked that she was a "world-class cheater" at games, making every gathering one to remember. She found great joy in flowers and gardening and loved spending time outdoors fishing, swimming, and traveling. Some of her favorite adventures included trips to Corpus Christi, Branson, Heavener, and scenic drives along the Talimena National Scenic Byway. She even enjoyed searching for Bigfoot, a pastime that reflected her adventurous spirit and wonderful sense of humor.
Granny was known for being strong-willed, hard-headed, and stubborn, but beneath that determined exterior was a heart overflowing with love. She was fiercely supportive of those she loved, often showing that love through honesty and "hard love" when it was needed most. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family, especially her treasured great-grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to her life.
Sherry is survived by: numerous grandchildren including: Heather Taylor and Andrew Walker of Kellyville, Oklahoma, Maranda Ward and husband Christopher of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Sarah Hubbard of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gavin Shadrick of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brent Hubbard of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Justin Webb of Tulsa, Oklahoma, John Webb of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Daniel Hubbard of Tulsa, Oklahoma; numerous great grandchildren including: Shyann Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Haylee Ward, and Luke Hubbard; numerous nieces and nephews including: Joey Ingram, Jeremy Ingram, John Ingram, and Stephanie Ingram; 1 sister-in-law: Sharon Ingram; as well as numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of over 45 years, Rick Shadrick; her sons, Lucas Ray Hubbard and Jason Wade Hubbard; her sisters, Angie Hensley and Reva Ingram; and her brothers, Joel Ingram and Dewayne Rowbotham.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026, at McClain Cemetery near Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home. Memories, condolences, and tributes may be shared at www.locustgrovefuneralhome.com.
