Bill Jay Swafford, Sr. April 17, 1948 - February 2, 2026

Bill Jay Swafford Sr. was born on April 17, 1948, in Tulare, California, to Jessie and Ora (Sherfield) Swafford. Bill was raised in California, where he met Patricia Eldracher. The couple would later marry in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 20, 1970. Shortly after their marriage, Bill and Patricia moved to Oklahoma. Bill was a roofer by trade. He and his family lived in various towns over the years as they traveled following storm damage. Bill worked in roofing up until he was in his late 60's. And even after retirement, he stayed busy doing odd jobs. Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, treasure hunting, and telling stories.

Bill Swafford Sr. departed this life on February 02. 2026, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, at the age of 77.

Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Richard Swafford and daughter-in-law, Demaris; daughters: Diane Costa Roca and son-in-law, Jose, Wendy Coats and son-in-law, Ben; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers: James Swafford, Ricky Swafford, and Danny Swafford; sisters: Linda Hansen and Frances Jones.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Swafford and Ora Jane Randle; son, Billy Swafford; brothers: Gary Swafford, Freddy Swafford, Johnny Swafford, Robert Swafford, and Sam Swafford; sisters: Billie Grissom, Claramae Gonzalez, Dorothy Jackson, and Judy Schultz.
