Nora Lee Whitaker
October 19, 1932 - April 14, 2025

Nora Lee Whitaker, born on October 19, 1932, in Peggs, Oklahoma, departed this life on Monday, April 14, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 92.

She lived a life celebrated for her dedication to family and her deep-rooted passions.Nora married the love of her life, Burl Whitaker, on July 1, 1952, and together they built a family and shared countless memories until his passing in January of 2001. As a devoted mother, she is survived by her sons, Monte Whitaker and wife Karen of Owasso, OK, and Terry Whitaker of Broken Arrow, OK; her daughter, Dianna Frye and husband James of Salina, OK; and a posterity that includes 10 grandchildren, Jessica Henderson, Jacob Boffer, Joshua Boffer, Jonathan Boffer, Joseph Boffer, Tamara Whitaker, Brian Whitaker, and Katherine Stephen Whitaker; 9 great grandchildren, Michaela, Antonio, Chloe, Alex, Joshua, Leo, Isaiah, Malana, Aiden, Kiersten, Sophia, and Lala; and 3 great great grandchildren, Robyn, Jaxson, and Railey. Her legacy lives on through the lives of those she cherished most.

Nora's joys extended beyond familial bonds. She was a passionate cook and devoted gardener, always nurturing both flowers and vegetables with love and care. Her enthusiasm for the outdoors found her fishing and camping whenever possible, and her family enjoyed memorable vacations filled with laughter and connection.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Burl Whitaker; her son, Gaylen Whitaker; her parents, Frank and Beulah Scroggins; and seven siblings.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove. Joseph Boffer, Jonathan Boffer, Brian Whitaker, and Antonio Henderson will serve as casket bearers. To leave a personal message, please visit her guestbook at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com.
