Tammy Sue "TT," "Mom," and "Granny" Trupp, 55, of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Tammy was born on October 13, 1970, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Robert "Bob" Hayes Cozad, Sr. and Barbara Groves. She spent her childhood in Alabama before moving with her family to Locust Grove, Oklahoma, at the age of 18. She graduated from Locust Grove High School with the Class of 1988.
On September 3, 1994, Tammy married John Craig Trupp, in Locust Grove. Together they shared nearly 32 years of marriage, building a life centered on family, faith, and unwavering love.
Throughout her life, Tammy dedicated herself first and foremost to being a homemaker, a role she cherished. She also worked at several businesses over the years, including Henson's Truck Stop in Chouteau, where she spent several years as a cook. It’s also where Tammy and John got together and raised Mark. She later worked as a line worker at Robel and Belco, later known as Orchid Paper, for seven to eight years. At Labinal Aerospace in Pryor, she became affectionately known as "Gopher" because she was always willing to retrieve parts and deliver them wherever they were needed. Tammy also served as a night manager at Harps in Locust Grove then later worked at Love's Truck Stop in Pryor and later worked at the Chouteau Love's location.
Tammy attended Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church in Locust Grove and looked forward to worshipping at Trinity Baptist Church in Hayden, Alabama, whenever she and her family visited during vacations.
Tammy had a giving heart and was passionate about helping children. Through her efforts supporting Children's Miracle Network, she organized fundraising events, secured sponsorships through the local golf course, and encouraged donations from both Ford and Chevrolet dealerships. Her dedication helped raise significant funds to benefit children in need.
Tammy found joy in the simple moments of life. She loved photography and especially enjoyed having her picture taken with exotic animals during trips to the zoo. She was an exceptional cook and took great pride in teaching the boys how to prepare many of her favorite meals, including beef stroganoff, liver and onions, fried chicken with mashed potatoes, baked beans, stew, pork chops, fried fish, and holiday favorites like turkey and ham. She also enjoyed drawing and coloring flowers and plants, caring for her houseplants, and especially loved Stargazer lilies. Tammy loved country music, with Jelly Roll and Upchurch among her favorite artists. She treasured fishing trips with the boys, especially their visits to Alabama, and enjoyed relaxing with her favorite television shows, Lonesome Dove, Yellowstone, and The Young and the Restless.
Those who knew Tammy will remember her as a beautiful soul who was kind, caring, protective of those she loved, and never afraid to speak her mind. She loved deeply, gave generously, and devoted herself to her family. Her strength, laughter, and loving heart will be missed beyond measure, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Tammy is survived by: husband John of the home; 2 grandsons: Ely Cozad and John Cozad, both of the home; 1 sister: Katherine Marie Whipple and husband Brent of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; 1 grandpa: Freddy; Uncle and aunt: Jerry and Evelyn Cozad of Rimlap, Alabama; Step-Mother: Betty Cozad of Rimlap, Alabama; Half-siblings: Danny, Sandi, Joe, and Suzy; Numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
Tammy was preceded in death by: her parents: Robert Cozad and Barbara Groves; her son: Mark Allen Cozad; her brother: Robert Hayes Cozad, Jr.; her brother-in-law: Sam; Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Pastor Jason Trupp will officiate. Services have been entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home. Memories, condolences, and tributes may be shared at www.locustgrovefuneralhome.com.
