James "Jimmy" Morrow
July 27, 1962 - April 6, 2025
James Harold "Jimmy" Morrow, Jr. was born on July 27, 1962, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to James Harold Morrow, Sr. and Mary Louise (Scroggins) Pearce. He was lovingly raised by his mother Mary and his father, Teddy Dale Pearce. Jimmy passed away at his home near Locust Grove on Sunday, April 6, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family.
Jimmy's early years were shaped by travel, moving often due to his father's work in construction. The family moved to Morris, Oklahoma, where he attended high school and met the love of his life, Linda Lee Field. The two were married on October 9, 1982, in Morris and then made their home in Locust Grove.
A hard worker with a deep commitment to his family, Jimmy cut many ricks of wood and worked as a supervisor for EMJ Steel Company in Tulsa. After more than two decades there, he joined the family business, Deals On Wheels in Locust Grove. From mechanical work and mowing, to babysitting and fishing, Jimmy did it all - and loved every minute of it. He retired in 2020.
Fishing was Jimmy's favorite pastime, and he was happiest casting a line or teaching his grandchildren the joys of the sport. He also enjoyed gardening, riding motorcycles, and building and driving hot rods. A regular at the races in Salina, he took great pride in watching his son and granddaughter compete. He had a creative side, too - writing heartfelt poems and love letters for his "Honey," and crafting detailed wood carvings and paper mache projects and construction.
Jimmy had a kind heart and great sense of humor, often laced with sarcasm and quick wit. He loved trips to the casino, working with his hands, and spending quality time with his grandchildren - especially showing them how to fish and attempting to teach his sons-in-law how to cast a fishing net. His favorite color was purple and he had a green thumb. Jimmy will be remembered for his humor, creativity, dedication to his family, and the deep love he gave so freely. He was cherished by all who knew him and will be missed beyond measure.
Jimmy is survived by: His wife, Linda, of the home; 3 children: Jason Morrow and wife Mandy of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Misty Johnson and husband Justin of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, and Amy Morrow and husband Walus Hair of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren: Jasie, Molly, Jimmy, Alexis, Maggie, Mason, and Axle; His father: Ted Pearce of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Tina Peace of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edward Joe Kelley; one sister, Janet Livingston; brothers-in-law Thomas Dragovan and Bobby Foster; his uncle, Harvey Pearce; cousins Vickie Pearce and Randall Pearce; and a dear friend, Fred Hallford.
A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Cornerstone Outreach in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Pastor Edna Kiddy will officiate. Burial will follow at Hogan Cemetery. After burial lunch will be held at Cornerstone Outreach Church, all is welcome. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
