Michael Lee Johnston, age 68, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on May 31, 2025. He was born on September 12, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Bobby Charles Johnston and Mary Rhoda (Scroggins) Johnston. Mike was a graduate of East High School in Des Moines, Iowa, class of 1974. Throughout his life, he worked various jobs in Des Moines, IA; Blue Springs, KS; Kansas City, MO; and Pryor, OK. He retired from janitorial services at River Spirit Casino in Tulsa, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly nature. Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God and found great joy in his faith. Outside of work, he loved the outdoors - especially fishing - and had a deep appreciation for music. He enjoyed playing the guitar and cherished time spent with family.

Michael is survived by his sister, Norma Terry of Edmond, Oklahoma, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Rhoda Johnston; his brother, Bobby Johnston; an infant sister; and brother-in-law, Steve Terry.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. He will be laid to rest at Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, with Tommy Allen, Randy Gillum, Corey Holt, Rick Holt, Larry Johnston, and Jason Terry serving as casket bearers.
