Lena Pauline Farr
January 21, 1926 - March 21, 2026

Lena Pauline (Cloud) Farr, known to all as Lena, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the remarkable age of 100 years and 2 months. She was born on January 21, 1926, in Murphy, Oklahoma, to Ada Hughes, and at a very young age was lovingly adopted and raised by Arch and Jennie (Crittenden) Cloud. Her father was a devoted preacher and farmer, and her mother a homemaker and farmer, instilling in Lena a lifelong work ethic and strong faith.

Lena grew up in the Murphy area, where she attended school. She later received her certified nursing assistant training, beginning a life dedicated to hard work and caring for others. On May 13, 1946, in Pryor, Oklahoma, Lena Pauline Vann was united in marriage to Charles Alfred Farr, Sr. They shared over 43 years of marriage before his passing on November 5, 1989. Earlier in life, Lena was married to Leroy Vann from 1942 to 1944. Lena was the proud mother of ten children and was the matriarch of six living generations, a legacy that brought her immense pride and joy.

Lena made her home in Collinsville, Oklahoma for over 41 years before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Throughout her life, she wore many hats. She retired from Valhoma Industries and also worked for many years as a home health assistant. Her work experience included time as a commercial sewing machine operator, a certified nursing assistant in nursing homes, and helping on the family farm. She officially retired in 1990.

A woman of deep faith, Lena was a devoted member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Claremore, Oklahoma for over 35 years. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she often encouraged others to accept Jesus Christ in their hearts.

On January 21, 2026, Lena was honored with induction into the Centenarians of Oklahoma Hall of Fame, a testament to her long and meaningful life.

Lena's hands were rarely still. She found joy in sewing, quilting, crocheting, beadwork, and creating Christmas ornaments. She maintained large gardens, preserving her harvest through canning and freezing fruits, vegetables, and jellies. She enjoyed camping, fishing, word search books, and working puzzles. Many of her handmade items were sold across Oklahoma and beyond, while others were lovingly given as gifts. She also cherished traveling, visiting states such as New Mexico, Colorado, and Oregon. Above all, Lena treasured Christmas, when her children and grandchildren would gather to celebrate together.

Lena spoke often and proudly of raising her ten children and took great joy in sharing their accomplishments, as well as the ever-growing number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Over the course of her century-long life, she witnessed tremendous changes in the world, yet remained steadfast in her values, faith, and love for her family.

She is survived by seven children: Nancy McLemore of Stilwell, Oklahoma; Charlie Farr and wife Marilyn of Collinsville, Oklahoma; Martha Manning of Longdale, Oklahoma; Hellen Henry and husband John of Claremore, Oklahoma; Norma Moore of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Tommy Farr and wife Sheila of Owasso,Oklahoma; and Virgil Farr and wife Gina of Oologah, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law Ann Vann; and son-in-law Jerry Smith.

She also leaves behind 42 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren, 80 great-great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents; her brother: Clifford Hughs; two sons: Roy Vann and Samuel Farr; one daughter: Barbra Smith; three sons-in-law: Richard McLemore, Gene Manning, and John Moore; and one daughter-in-law: Debbie Farr.
