Oceola Meeks
January 2, 1928 - September 10, 2012
Oceola Jack "Sonnie" Meeks, 84, of Adair, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012 at his home. He was born on January 2, 1928 in Tiawah, Oklahoma, the son of Ossie Meeks and Eliza (Collier) Meeks.
He faithfully served his Country in the United States Army. He married Juanita Lloyd on March 3, 1953. Sonnie worked for the City of Pryor in the Street Department for over 29 years, retiring in 1993. He loved to fish and especially loved living on the lake. He hunted and enjoyed watching deer and other wildlife. Sonnie enjoyed traveling and taking his family on vacation all over the country. He dearly loved his family and the time spent with them. Especially dear were all his grandchildren and the special times spent together.
He leaves many wonderful memories for his family and friends to cherish. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the Graham Memorial Cemetery at Pryor, Oklahoma with Reverend George Ball officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita of the home; his sons, DeWayne and wife, Cindy Meeks of Chouteau, OK, Dannie and wife, Laurie Meeks of Adair, Oklahoma, Darrell Meeks of the home; his daughters, Debra Ackley and husband, Kenny of Chouteau, OK, Dorothy Smith and husband, Mike of Chouteau, Oklahoma; his sister, Mary Elizabeth Fox of Adair, OK; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded by his parents, Ossie and Eliza Meeks; two grandchildren, Jackie Darell and Kristen Renee; brother, Flavis Meeks and infant brother, Tommy Meeks; sisters, Elvira Stites, Betina Rileigh and Arvella Willis.
