July 24, 1939 - July 16, 2006
Funeral services for Mrs. Gwen Kemper 66 of Mesa, AZ will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday July 26, 2006 in the Key Funeral Home Chapel of Pryor, Ok. Brother Keith Cagle will officiate and burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor, Ok.
Mrs. Kemper was born on July 24, 1939 in Tulsa, Ok. She died on July 16, 2006 in Mesa, AZ. The daughter of Clifton & LaVelle Looper she grew up and graduated high school at Tulsa's Will Rogers in 1957. She moved to Mesa, AZ in 1985 and earned a Bachelors degree in Management from Western International University in 1989. She was a member of the Central Christian Church of the East Valley.
She first married Curtis Looper, not previously related, and then on July 17, 1964 she married Dale Kemper. Gwen worked all of her adult life completing her career with a retirement from Boeing on April 30, 2006 as a Financial Analyst. Quoting one of her co-workers, "Gwen has been a great friend, and teammate, and it has been such an honor to work with her." She made many close and lasting friends and was always thoughtful of others. She was known for her happy disposition, positive attitude, and love of her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel and enjoyed activity.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE: Her husband Dale of the home 2-Daughters: Stephanie Kemper of Chandler, AZ; Jill Pyle & husband Roger of Pryor, Ok.; 2-Sons: Casey Kemper & wife Kimberly Cody Kemper & wife Denise (ALL OF MESA, AZ); 10-Great Grandchildren: Jon Kemper, Danielle Hackmann, Wayne Hackmann, Jered Sanders, Zachary Kemper, Brenton Kemper, Paige Kemper, Tyler Kemper, Katlyn Kemper, Alexander Kemper. Her Step-Mother: Opal Looper of Pryor, Ok.; 1-Niece: Jamie Archibald; 3-Nephews: Robert Looper, James Ryan Looper, Evan Looper.
She was preceded in death by: Her brother Steve Looper, and her mother and father.
