Mozelle Thomas
September 1, 1923 - August 4, 2025

Diamon Mozelle Thomas was born on September 01, 1923, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Thomas and Sarah (Mashburn) Sparks. She was raised in Pryor, where she attended local schools, graduating from Pryor High School in 1941. Mozelle was united in marriage to Paul Thomas on August 20, 1965, in Pryor.

Mozelle worked for the Mayes County District Attorney's office for thirty-five years. She had a very successful career and earned numerous citations and awards, including being named Secretary of the Year for 1978-79 by the Mayes County Legal Secretaries Association. Also, in 1979 she received an honorary citation from the Oklahoma District Attorney's Association for dedicated service in prosecution. In 1981 Mozelle was named Outstanding District Attorney Secretary which was presented by the Oklahoma District Attorney Association.

Following her retirement, Mozelle worked as a bailiff for Judge Post. She also volunteered for several years as a Pink Lady at Mayes County Medical Center. Mozelle was a member of Pryor's United Methodist Church and was very active there. For ten years, Mozelle enjoyed spending summers with her family in Alaska. She loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Mozelle Thomas departed this life on August 04, 2025, in Claremore, Oklahoma, at the age of 101 years, 11 months, and 03 days.

She is survived by her two daughters: Sherry (Mike) Wilcox, and Cathy (Jim) Robbins; step-daughter, Susan (Don) Wolf; grandchildren: Nathan (Angela) Wilcox, Michelle (Walter) Figueroa, Joell (Adrian) Sepulveda; great-granddaughters: Allie Beth Wilcox, Naina Figueroa; nephew: Jon Sparks.

Mozelle was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lula Sparks; husband, Paul Thomas; and brothers: Bill and Otto Sparks, step-son John Thomas and grandson, John Wilcox.
