Billy Eugene Stamper
April 7, 1935 - September 28, 2020
Billy Eugene Stamper was born April 7, 1935 in Locust Grove, OK to Theodore "Ted" Roosevelt & Esther Maree (Carter) Stamper. He departed this life on Monday, September 28, 2020, in Salina, OK at the age of 85 years, 5 months, & 21 days.
Billy graduated from Locust Grove High School with the class of 1953. On February 27, 1954, Rose Marie Keener & Billy Eugene Stamper were united in marriage. He worked as a pipefitter & truck driver for Hamil's Trucking.
When he was younger, Billy liked to hunt & fish. He was also a horseman as well. Billy was a very generous person that loved to smoke meat & share with his friends & family. Not only was he generous & loving to his friends & family, but to stray animals as well. Billy looked after his cats & dogs & especially loved to take care of "Red". He had a favorite mule he called "Donkey". He will be missed by all that knew & loved him.
Billy is survived by: His wife of over 66, Rose, of the home; 3 children: Karen Davis & husband Wes of Locust Grove, OK, Kathy Sumner & husband Herman of Salina, OK, & Karma Phillips & husband Loyd of Verdigris, OK; 6 grandchildren: Brad Davis, Brent Davis & wife Heather, Nathan Sumner, Nacole Rogers, Loyd Dale Phillips & wife Jennalee, & Scott Phillips & wife Randon; 13 great grandchildren & 1 great-great granddaughter.
Billy was preceded in death by: his parents; 1 sister: Betty Hammonds; 2 brothers: Fred Stamper & Frank Stamper; & 1 nephew: Bruce Hammonds.
Graveside services were held 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Fairview Cemetery in Pryor, OK. Brother Shawn Bates officiated. Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
