Larry Allen Eby
July 4, 1941 - July 11, 2021
Larry Allen Eby was born on July 4, 1941 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Garland Donald and Mabel Maxine (Snyder) Eby; he passed away on July 11, 2021 at his home in Adair at the age of 80.
Larry grew up and attended school in Adair, graduating in 1959. He and Patsy Ann Sumner were marred on June 11, 1960 in Miami, Oklahoma and they made their home in Adair. Larry started his career with GRDA in April of 1967 and when he retired in June of 1997, he was the Superintendent of Transmission. Larry and Patsy also owned several small businesses in Adair over the years; they started The Main Store in 1980 and it was in business for 28 years, they also owned Memories Antique Store for 15 years and The Corner Store which is still in business.
In Larry's free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but in the most recent years, fishing had become his favorite pastime. He also loved watching his grandkids play ball as they were growing up and spending time with his family was always important.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Adair.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy, of the home; two sons, Kenny Joe Eby of Adair and Jeffrey Allen Eby and wife Rhonda of Adair; five grandchildren, Sheena Tanksley, Lynse Eby, Kristin Eby, Megan Poe and Jerod Eby; eleven great grandchildren, Zoe, Zyla, Gaije, Sadie Sofie, Lauryn, William, Charlotte, Natalie, Jaeden and Isabella; his mother, Maxine Cason of Adair and sister, Sharron Gay of Adair.
He was preceded in death by his father, Garland Eby and one brother, Billy Joe Eby.
