Oreta May Warford
July 14, 1934 - December 1, 2024
Oreta May (Sharp) Warford, 90, of Adair, Oklahoma, went to meet her loved ones in Heaven. She left this life in the home of her daughter, Carrie Graves, on December 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Oreta was born on July 14, 1934, in Cushing, Oklahoma to Leo and Thelma Sharp. She had 3 brothers, Riley, Clarence and LeRoy, and 1 sister, Janet. In 1935, Oreta and family moved to Pryor, Oklahoma. Oreta met Nelson Warford and married him on July 19, 1952, in Huntsville, Arkansas. Oreta had 6 children during her marriage, Theresa, Dianna, Michael, Sherrie, Carrie, and David "Bo". Oreta and Nelson were married 61 years, 11 months, 18 days. Oreta followed Nelson to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where Nelson served 2 years in the Army. They returned to Oklahoma after being discharged from the Army in 1954. Oreta attended and graduated from Nursing School in 1972. Becoming a nurse was a lifelong dream of hers. She retired from her position at Veterans Center in Claremore, Oklahoma in 2011. Oreta was a great cook and enjoyed making her famous yeast rings to give out for Christmas to her friends and family. She will be greatly missed by her companion cat "Little Bit". Oreta will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Oreta is survived by her two sons: Michael Warford and Glenna of Pryor, and David "Bo" and Stephanie Warford of Utopia, Oklahoma, three daughters, Theresa and Kenny McGuire of Thomas, Oklahoma, Dianna and Mike Osborn of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Carrie and Jimmy Graves of Adair, Oklahoma; special niece, Debbie Cooper, 4 sister in laws, Mary and Jim Esterline, Marsha and Ray Gilpin of Adair, Oklahoma, Carol Sharp of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Lana Sharp of Pryor, Oklahoma; 1 brother, Leroy Sharp of Pryor, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren, Kendra and Steve Zmek, Kenny Jr. and Brandy McGuire, Rachel Osborn and Ryan Weber, Angela and Thomas Reynolds, Toby and Megan Graves, Jerrerd and Terra Graves, Kylee and Phillip Lopez, Shyla Stanton and Sasha Warford; 19 great grandchildren, Kennedy Copeland, Tyler Zmek, Makenzie McGuire, Madison McGuire, Maddox McGuire, Cason Graves, Karlee Graves, Cauy Craig, Wyatt Graves, Gabby Lopez, Knox Lopez, Paislee Lopez, Jerrett Graves, Jaycob Graves, Alyssah Graves, Clarissah Graves, Trinity Stanton, Cooper Stanton, Lane Stanton, Killian Littlefield, Silas Littlefield, Daphne Littlefield, Ethan Reynolds, Aubrey Reynolds, and Ethan Reynolds.
Oreta is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Thelma Sharp, husband, Nelson Warford, 1 daughter, Sherri (Warford) Smith, 2 grandchildren, Seth Warford and Julia Osborn; 2 brothers, Riley Sharp and Clarence Sharp, and 1 sister, Janet Sharp.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 5, 2024, in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Adair Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Shipman's Funeral Home.
