Katie Mae Troyer
February 17, 1934 - March 17, 2026
Katie Mae was born February 17, 1934 in Chouteau to Crist & Clara (Troyer) Miller. She passed away on March 17, 2026 in Claremore peacefully with her family singing hymns by her bedside at the age of 92 years, one month.
Katie Mae was a lifetime resident of the Mayes County area. She married Freemon Troyer May 17, 1956 in Chouteau. She joined him in his Voluntary Service in lieu of the military in Kansas City Missouri. After his service ended they returned to the Mayes County area where together they raised seven children. She was a homemaker and worked alongside Freemon in his many endeavors including farming, milking, and tire mechanic shop. She also served alongside him in Mission Work. She loved gardening. Some of the best memories of her kids and grandkids was making and enjoying her apple butter and apple sauce. She loved her family and spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She enjoyed playing marbles & dominoes, crocheting, and quilting. Every family member that got married received a unique crochet gift baring their married name and marriage date. She was an active member of Zion Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School and helped with Vacation Bible School.
Katie is survived by her children Glenn & Sharon of Pryor, Dale Wayne of Pryor Dennis & Sharon of Adair, Jerry & Sherrie of Inola, Harry & Melinda of Claremore, and Caroline & Dan Douse of Pryor, 15 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren.

Brothers- & sisters-in-law Edna & Alva Yoder of Macon, Ms., Alma & Don Eichelberger of Pryor, Rudy & Sarah Troyer of Sarasota, Fl. , Mose & Marge Troyer of Goshen Ind., Lydia & Verland Lawerence of Pryor, Neal & Karen Troyer of Grove, Dawn Troyer of Okeechobee, Fl., Larry & Sandy Troyer of Shawnee, Susie Arnold of Pryor, Ida & Dale Shetler of Pryor, Wilma Garrett of Rowlett, Tx., and William & Lisa of Victoria, Tx.
Preceded in death by husband of 59 years Freemon Troyer, son Lavern Troyer, grandson Ty Troyer, her parents Crist & Clara (Troyer) Miller, step-mom Fannie (Mast) Miller, siblings Herman & wife Lou Miller, Fannie Miller, Lester Kuhns, Albert & wife Fannie Miller, Cristie Miller, Eli Detweiler, Barbara Bontrager, Ervin Raber, Mary Edna Graber, Holly Arnold, and Andy Troyer.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Hope Pregnancy Center in Pryor.
