Patricia Lynn Cox
March 25, 1959 - December 2, 2025
Patricia Lynn Cox, a lifelong resident of Salina, OK, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 66 years old. Patricia was born on March 25, 1959, in Pryor, OK, to Betty Jane (Gates) Mefford & JD Bales. She grew up in Salina, attending school there & graduated from Salina High School with the Class of 1977.
On June 3, 1977, Patricia married Ronny Cox, in Pryor, OK. The two built a lifetime of memories together in Salina, where they raised their family & remained deeply rooted in their community.
Patricia worked in several roles throughout her life, including raising dogs for several years through her kennel & spending time employed at the Salina Vet Clinic for a short time. However, her greatest & most treasured work was being a homemaker. Patricia devoted her life to caring for her family, her friends, & anyone who needed a hand. Her selflessness, honesty, & unwavering love for those around her were the foundation of who she was. She & Ronny attended church at various locations over the years, sharing their faith & fellowship together.
Patricia enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. She loved watching her grandsons show lambs & never passed up a good taco at dinner time. She was a good cook, tended lovingly to her flowers, & treasured trips to Branson with her mom. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing basketball. Above all, her heart belonged to her family, especially her grandchildren & her two precious great-grandbabies. She had a natural gift for nurturing & was always taking care of someone - family or friends. Patricia was wonderfully stubborn & set in her ways, but those qualities were part of the strength & character that endeared her to so many. She will be missed by all that knew & loved her.
Patricia is survived by: Her husband: Ronny of the home; 2 children: Kelly Simpson & husband Anthony of Tahlequah, OK, & Dustin Cox and wife Alisa of Salina, OK; 3 Grandsons: Bailey Simpson & wife Emma of Tahlequah, OK, Dylan Simpson & wife Kadance of Tahlequah, OK, & Jake Cox of Salina, OK; 2 Great grandbabies: Beckham Simpson & Memphis Simpson; Her mother: Betty Mefford; Numerous other relatives & a host of friends. Patricia was preceded in death by: her father; & her step-father: Carl Mefford.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Ross-Mayes Cemetery in Salina, Oklahoma. Brother John Monzingo and Brother Lorne Beck will officiate.
