LaCressia Ann Armstrong, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on July 12, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. Born on February 2, 1948, in Pryor, Oklahoma, LaCressia exemplified the virtues of kindness, strength, and unwavering faith throughout her life.
LaCressia was known for her sweet and kind demeanor, always prioritizing the needs of others above her own. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother and took delight in spending quality time with her grandchildren, nurturing and cherishing those precious moments.
She is survived by her children, Teresa Longbine and her husband Robert of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Steven Dowd and his wife Leighea of Rose, Oklahoma. Additionally, LaCressia is survived by her brother, Riley Snethen of Salina, Oklahoma, along with five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who will continue her legacy of love and kindness.
LaCressia was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Anna (Scott) Snethen, her husband, James Armstrong, and her grandmother, Rosa Scott.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2025, in the Ross Mayes Cemetery with Reverend Jerold Pilant officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Shipman's Funeral Home. To leave a personal message, please visit her guestbook at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com.
