October 14, 1980 - June 14, 2026
Christopher Hal Hill, known to family and friends as Chris, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, at the age of 45 years. He was born on October 14, 1980, in Houston, Texas, to Hal Hill and Dena Carol Standingwater-Hill. Chris spent his childhood years in the Houston area, primarily growing up in Pasadena, Texas. He attended schools in Pasadena and La Porte, Texas.
A dedicated and skilled worker, Chris was employed in the construction industry in Houston, Texas, where he worked as an iron worker and rigger. His work allowed him to travel throughout the country, and he took great pride in his profession. Chris was also known as an exceptionally talented mechanic who could fix just about anything with a motor. His favorite past time was tinkering around and fixing things, making them work again.
Chris made his home in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, where he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time outdoors, especially sitting fireside at night, talking with friends and family. He was the official family fire starter. Music was one of his passions, and he enjoyed listening to all genres. He had an impressive knowledge of songs and artists and could often answer even the most difficult music trivia questions. Chris was a baseball fan who faithfully followed the Houston Astros. He also enjoyed watching The Dukes of Hazzard as a youngster.
His faith was important to him throughout his life. Chris attended Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church and Snake Creek Baptist Church, both in Locust Grove. His favorite Bible verse was Job 33:16 and Mark 1:8-16, 20, passages that brought him comfort and inspiration, even to us, who he shared them with.
More than anything, Chris will be remembered for his kind and compassionate heart. He was a tender, loving man who genuinely cared about others. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help those in need. His love for animals was evident to everyone who knew him, as he often cared for stray animals and provided them with the affection and attention they deserved. Chris cherished his family. The love he shared extended beyond his own children. He celebrated his nieces and nephews accomplishments, and would encourage them often. Above all, Chris would want his children to know, that he loved them deeply, come what may, with all his heart and thought about them always. His generosity, gentle spirit, and willingness to help others will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Chris is survived by: 4 children: Christian Lee Hill of Louisville, Kentucky, Ganan Christopher Hill of Pasadena, Texas, Taylor Nicholas Hill of Bandera, Texas, and Hunter Chase Hill of Bandera, Texas; His parents: Hal "Willie" and Dena Carol Standingwater-Hill of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 3 siblings: Benjamin Neil Hill and wife Caitlin of La Porte, Texas, Katie Lanae Sample and husband Brent of Baytown, Texas, Mandie L'Raine Hill of League City, Texas, and 5 nieces and 3 nephews; Numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and a host of friends.
Chris was preceded in death by: his Maternal grandparents: Charles and Darlene (Condit) Standingwater; his Paternal grandparents: Kenneth and Patsy Hill; and his cousins: Ginger Scheible and Lacey Scheible.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Pastor Rick Condit and Pastor Josh Galcatcher will officiate. Interment will follow at Little Rock Indian Cemetery in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home.
