Roland Milligan
March 25, 1945 - April 10, 2018

Roland James Milligan, 73, of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at his home. He was born on March 25, 1945 in Clay Center, Kansas; the son of Ray and Lavina (Finlay) Milligan. Roland married Wanda Pilant on September 23, 1972. He moved to Claremore in 2016, coming from Shell Knob, Missouri. He grew up on a farm and loved the farm life and enjoyed rebuilding tractors. Roland worked most of his life at Southwestern Bell as a Service Tech. Roland was a member of the Hebron Reformed Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas. He attended the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Pryor and enjoyed attending services and church activities. He was a wonderful husband, father and brother and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside Services for Roland will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 13, 2018 in the New Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove, Oklahoma with Reverend Jerold Pilant officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel. To leave his family a message, please visit his Tribute Wall at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Service. The family suggest memorial donations be made to the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Pryor, Oklahoma.

Roland is survived by his wife, Wanda Milligan of the home; son, Gregory Milligan of Independence, Missouri; daughter, Brittney Milligan of the home; brothers, Harold Milligan and wife, Margaret of Clay Center, Kansas and Norman Milligan and wife, Gwen of Clay Center, Kansas; sister, Mary Fowles of Clay Center, Kansas; many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Lavina Milligan.
