February 12, 1958 - April 20, 2026

Joyce A. (Brown) Tune, 68-year-old Big Cabin resident, passed away early Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 12, 1958, in Fredonia, Kansas to Lonnie S. Brown and Bobbie Lloydene (Ivey) Brown. Joyce attended school in Big Cabin growing up. She enjoyed going to the Casinos, garage sales, taking drives with the family, and sharing her home with her kids many friends who lovingly called her "Mom."

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Larry Sherman Brown, sister, Barbara Brown; and a special granddaughter, Suzie Shrum and special friend Dale Cannady.

The family includes her children, Judy Shrum and husband Jason of Vinita, Mandy Tune of Big Cabin, her grandchildren, Mary, Grace, (Chase) and Markius, great-grandchildren, Jace, Abel, Colton and EmmaLynn; sister, Margaret "Micki" Helpingstein of Kansas; and her loving dog, "King".

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita.

The graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ghormley Cemetery near Pensacola, Pastor Aaron Hutchcraft (of Big Cabin Christian Church) officiating. Casket bearers will be Jason Shrum, Markius Copeland, Chase Berry, William Osburn, Mike Williams, Charlie Chambers; honorary bearers will be Jace and Colton Berry. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmthfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita.
