Linda J. Smith
June 13, 1948 - March 8, 2026

Linda Joan (Richardson) Smith 77-year-old Jenks resident, formerly of Claremore, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Hillcrest South in Tulsa. She was born on June 13, 1948, in Vinita to Loran Orville Richardson and Mary Juanita (Hallett) Richardson. Linda was a 1966 graduate of Adair High School, then received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Northeastern State in Tahlequah. Linda and Phillip Smith were married on January 5, 1973, in Pensacola, Oklahoma. They lived in Claremore where Phil taught at Rogers State and she taught school for a brief time, before becoming the reference librarian at Will Rogers Library in Claremore for over 20 years. Linda enjoyed reading and watching western movies, going through cookbooks, and cooking, shopping, working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Linda loved her family most of all.

Her parents preceded her in death.

The family includes her husband Phillip of the home; daughter, Julie Spears, and husband John of Jenks; one granddaughter, Brooke Spears; a brother, Sam Richardson of Claremore; numerous other relatives and friends.

The graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ghormley Cemetery, near Pensacola, Pastor Ronny Hardage officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita.
