Linda Ann Peterson, 77, of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, in Tulsa. She was born on October 26, 1947, in Plainfield, New Jersey to John and Josephine (Parenti) Yednak. On June 30, 1978, Linda married Merle Peterson. Together, they built a life in Oklahoma. A devoted homemaker, Linda poured her heart into caring for her family and home. She had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life - gardening, antiquing, and reading, especially books that enriched her spiritually. Kind, loving, and dedicated, Linda touched the lives of all who knew her. She especially enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had made her home in the Chouteau area for the last 30 years, after moving from Yukon, Oklahoma.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John Yednak and Josephine (Parenti) Lopatka. She is survived by her husband, Merle Peterson of the home; son, Charles Egger Jr. of Cushing, OK; daughter, Lisa Jovee and husband Edward of Glenpool, OK; five cherished grandchildren - Casey Brauner, Charles Egger III, Lauren White, Caleb Egger, and Megan Mockerman - as well as numerous great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Chouteau West Cemetery in Chouteau, Oklahoma. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor.
