Isaac Tom Sanders
February 18, 1951 - April 12, 2026

Isaac Tom "Ike" Sanders, a lifelong resident of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on April 12, 2026, at his home in Locust Grove. He was 75 years, 1 month, and 22 days old. Ike was born on February 18, 1951, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, to Walter Sanders and Anna Bell (Christie) Sanders. He spent his entire life in the Locust Grove community having attended Oak Hill School through the eighth grade and later graduated from Locust Grove High School.

On April 24, 1999, Ike married Celina Marie (Amlong) Butler. The couple shared over 21 years of marriage before her passing on September 20, 2020. Ike worked on the pipeline in his younger years and later was employed by the Cherokee Nation Housing Authority. He took pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those around him.

A man of faith, Ike was a lifelong member of Ballou Baptist Church near Locust Grove. He cherished attending church services and gatherings and found happiness in gospel music. One of his favorite scriptures was 2 Timothy 2:11: "It is a faithful saying: for if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him," a verse that reflected his steadfast belief and hope.

In his free time, Ike enjoyed tending to his garden, mowing the yard, and going fishing. He also liked working puzzles, watching westerns, and following sports. He will be remembered for his quiet nature, his love for his family, and the many friendships he formed throughout his life.

Ike is survived by: 2 sister: Katherine Sanders of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Carol Goforth of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 1 brother: Sammy Sanders of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 1 step-son: Gary Butler of Chouteau, Oklahoma; 2 step-daughters: Jamie Butler of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Shaina Butler of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends;

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Celina Sanders; two sisters, Annie McClain and Peggy Sanders; and two brothers, Jack Sanders and Goback Sanders.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 20, 2026, at Ballou Baptist Church near Locust Grove, Oklahoma, with Reverend Jason Gann officiating. Interment will follow at Ballou Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home. Memories, condolences, and tributes may be shared at www.locustgrovefuneralhome.com.
