Barbara Lou Yates, 77 of Burkburnett, Texas passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 Wichita Falls, Texas. She was born on March 3, 1935 in Willis, Oklahoma to the late Earnest Leon Massey and Helen Samuels Massey.

Lou was raised in Willis and later she moved to Fobb, Oklahoma. She moved to Durant, Oklahoma where she married Connie M. Yates on December 22, 1953. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1993. Lou moved to San Diego, California before moving to Burkburnett in 1968 where she lived the rest of her life. She was affiliated with the Baptist faith and she enjoyed watching T.V. and loved her dog.


She is survived by: Children: Brenda Nelson, Sandra Gowan and Glenda Lindsey all of Burkburnett, Texas. Five Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Sister; Wilma Stomm of Maybank, Texas.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.


Casket Bearers: Dewayne Irwin, Ronnie Irwin, Charlie Stomm, W. J. Bryant, Paul Carter and Tom Resneder.

Visitation will be Friday, April 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and a family hour will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Watts Funeral Home , Kingston, Oklahoma.

Services will be Saturday, April 21th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Willis Cemetery, Willis, Oklahoma. Barry Williams will officiate the service. Services are under the direction of Watts Funeral Home , Madill, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Wichita Falls, Po Box 4804, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308.
