Eveline grew up in the Willis and Durant area. She
graduated from Cobb High School. On May 1, 1953, at Brown
Baptist Church, Eveline married her Cobb High School sweetheart,
Samuel Barton Massey and moved to Texas. Barton and Eveline
grew up during the great depression and learned to never take
things for granted. They were both extremely hard working and
loved helping others. They lived in Sierra Blanca for 4 years,
Sanderson for 45 years and San Angelo for 9 years. Together,
they ran a gas station and restaurant in Sanderson, TX for over
20 years.
