Charlie Wayne Rushing

Charlie Wayne Rushing, 71, of Powell, Oklahoma, passed away on January 2, 2026, at Carrus Health Hospital in Sherman, Texas. Charlie was born on May 12, 1954, in Madill, Oklahoma, to the late Charlie Elmo Denver Rushing and Leon Wilma Page Rushing. He was raised in the Marshall County and graduated from Madill High School in 1972. On August 12, 1972, he married Doris Kaye Young in Madill. Charlie spent his working life as a farmer and rancher in the agricultural industry. He took great pride in the land and the life it provided. Charlie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening, but above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, who were the joy of his life.

He is survived by:
Wife: Kaye Rushing of Powell, Oklahoma
Children: Shanna Nixon and husband Daniel of Madill, Oklahoma
Kari Idleman and husband Jeff of Davis, Oklahoma
Brother: Richard Rushing and wife Terri of Powell, Oklahoma
Sister: Carolyn Rushing Fajardo of Madill, Oklahoma
13 grandchildren: Tanner Stone, Erica Teafitiller, Caleb Nixon, Bailey Stone, Ethan Nixon,
Brooklyn Nixon, Madison Adams, Elizabeth Adams, Jessie Woolridge,
Dee Idleman, Kylie Woolridge, Gus Idelman, Asher Idelman.
4 great-grandchildren: Charleigh McLaughlin, Burkleigh McLaughlin, Jeremiah Sanders, and Kinsleigh McLaughlin.

Charlie will be remembered as a hardworking man, devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather whose legacy lives on through his family and the land he cherished.

Casket Bearers will be Daniel Nixon, Jeff Idleman, Denver Rushing, Buddy Deal, John Willis, and Wormy Ayres.

Honorary Bearers will be Tanner Stone, Caleb Nixon, Ethan Nixon, Dee Idelman, Gus Idelman, Asher Idelman, Devin McLaughlin, Timothy Clifford, Cody Clifford, and Wylie Woolridge
