George was born August 1857 in Owens Crossroads, Madison County, Alabama and passed away 9 August 1906 in Aylesworth, Marshall County, Indian Territory, now Oklahoma.He married Martha Ann Sophia Adeline McGaha, in 1881. To this union 5 children were born: William W. Owen, Elijah R. Owen, Ella E. Owen, Amanda Kansas Owen, Andrew Richard Owen.
Mr. Martin moved his family here from Garth, Alabama, in February, 1906, by covered wagon. Was published in The Kingston Messenger on February 9, 1906, in column entitled “Knob Items”.At his death, he was buried in a family plot of relatives, next to Allie Mitchell Harless, first wife of Benjamin Franklin Harless, who later married Mr. Owen’s daughter, Ella E. Owen.The information regarding his burial came directly to me from Alberta Harless Kyle, daughter of B. F. Harless and Ella Owen, and niece of Amanda Kansas Owen Woolery.
