Lawana Jean Self, 86, of Carrollton, Texas passed away on February 17, 2023, at the Lake Village Nursing and Rehab Center in Lewisville, Texas.

She was born on April 23, 1936, in Kingston, Oklahoma to the late Charles Horace LeFlore and Hazel Everett LeFlore.  She grew up in Kingston where she graduated from the Kingston High School in 1954.  Lawana married Ralph Gilford Self on April 6, 1956 in Dallas, Texas and he preceded her in death in November of 2006.  While living in Dallas she worked for the Dallas Times Herald and Sears. In 1986 she moved back to Kingston and worked for Jeff’s Flowers.  Lawana was a member of the Kingston Church of Christ and she enjoyed painting, gardening and loved her grandchildren.  

 
Lawana is survived by Children Keith Self, Carrollton, Texas; Brian Self and wife Debra Duff, Denton, Texas. 4 grandchildren 15 Great grandchildren. Sisters Oteka Beasley, Madill, Oklahoma; Brenda Jones, Kingston, Oklahoma. Brother Paul LeFlore and wife Sandra, Aubrey, Texas.
 
Lawana was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter in-law; Beth Self, brothers; Colin and Charles LeFlore and sister; Sharon Freeman.
