Lavina Ruth Patzkowsky was born September 22, 1930 near Enid and went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on May 15, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond and parents Tena Kroeker Ediger and Cornelius H. Ediger.

She is survived by Susan and Larry Foster of Lawson, Missouri, Merle and Joyce Patzkowsky of Fairview, and Laura and Larry Margerum of Canute. Also survived by grandchildren Leslie (Kurt) Wenzel, Julie (Brad) Lewis, Jennifer Patzkowsky, Jon Patzkowsky, Theo (Kelsey) Patzkowsky, Andrea Branson, Cynthia (Billy) Hicks, Rebecca (Matt) Walters, Alan Branson Jr., 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also survived by sisters Delores Thiessen, Frances Wedel, and brother Allen Ediger.

Lavina and Raymond were married October 30, 1949. During their marriage they lived in North Enid, Isabella, Powers Lake, North Dakota, Lufkin and Diboll Texas, and later in Fairview. They returned to Oklahoma in 1958 to begin farming the Patzkowsky family farm. She was a member of the Fairview MB church, active for many years in the Isabella Home Extension club, and worked at the election board at the Isabella precinct for several years. She spent her life as an awesome mother. In addition to raising her family she managed the farming operation every summer while dad went north on custom harvest. Her love of gardening was one of her delights in her life. Mom loved traveling with her siblings after Dad passed away taking many trips together.

She was a huge supporter of her children’s and grandchildren’s athletic endeavors. She loved to go to track meets and basketball games to cheer on the kids. In 1968 Mom began working at Fairview Hospital. She was a dedicated employee at the hospital for 40 years. Lavina moved into the Fairview Fellowship Home in 2010 where she resided until her death. It was her great joy to harass the girls that cared for her. She passed away at the Fairview Regional Medical Center after a short illness. As her family we were blessed beyond measure because God chose her to be our mother and grandmother. Join us as we honor her life and the influences she had on her family, friends and co-workers. Today we celebrate Lavina’s life.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church in Fairview, Oklahoma with Pastor Marlin Hiett officiating. Memorials may be made to the Fairview M.B. Church , Fairview, Oklahoma through the funeral home at P.O. Box 15, Fairview, OK 73737. Interment will follow in the South M.B. Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Fairview.
