August 24, 1949 - November 13, 2022

Funeral services for Mary Elaine Shaffer, 73, of Ringwood, will be 10:30 AM, Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Central Christian Church, Reverends Jeff Baker and Ronnie Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery west of Meno, Oklahoma. Arrangements by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Mary Elaine Shaffer was born on August 24, 1949 in Erie, Kansas to Alfred Patrick and Marjorie Pearl (Wallace) West and passed away November 13, 2022 at the St Mary's Hospital in Enid, OK. Mary grew up and graduated from high school in Boonville, Missouri. Mary was blessed with four children, one son Gene Goodson, and three daughters, Diana Goodson, Debbie Goodson, and Toni Houk. Later in life she met the love of her life, Tom Shaffer and added three more children to the family, Geoff Shaffer, Brent Shaffer and Shanna Hiscock. Mary worked more than 32 years for the Major County Sheriff Office performing many different roles in Law Enforcement. Mary loved the outdoors, calling to her red birds and playing with her beloved dogs, Callie and Sampson. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband Tom Shaffer, four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her daughters; Diana Goodson, Debbie Goodson, and Toni Houk and her husband Tyler, Shanna Hiscock and husband John; sons Gene Goodson and wife Tracy, Geoff Shaffer and wife Tonya and Brent Shaffer and wife Lindsey; 16 grandchildren, Tamara Goodson and fiancé Jason Bangeman, Kylie Landes and partner Kelsey Lorenz, Kelsi Landes and partner Nick Hengel, Kortney Dobrinski and husband Jamie, Lauren Tautfest and husband Colton, Anissa Goodson, Emma Goodson, Karington Hawk, Kinlee Hawk, Brody Houk, Brenner Houk, Sage Shaffer, Cameron Shaffer, Zane Pumphrey, Levi Shaffer, Stone Shaffer; four great grandchildren, Benny Garza, Nico Garza, Mazie Dobrinski, and Logan Lorenz. She is also survived by her brother Ralph West and three sisters Shirley Comer, Judi Bell, and Laurie West and one sister-in-law Ava West.

Memorial donations may be made to the Major County Sheriff Office with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. serving as custodian of the funds.
